Fast-forward nearly a decade to 2025. With new safety regulations in the form of the ECE 22.06 standard, it was time to evolve. Updating a design so beloved for its purity was no small challenge. After all, how do you improve something already known for its perfect balance of form and function? We listened. Over the years, J•O riders around the world have shared their feedback, and we’ve taken it to heart. Today, we’re proud to introduce the result: the J•O2—a true evolution of a classic.

The biggest challenge in developing the J•O2 was preserving the iconic, compact shape with the “duck tail shape” in the neck area while meeting the new and stricter safety requirements. The J•O2 meets the requirements of the new ECE-R 22.06 safety standard for jet helmets, but has retained its light weight of well under 1.100 grams (in size M). The result is a helmet that remains unmistakably J•O at a glance—but now offers even more versatility and design refinement. Unless you know exactly where to look, you’d be hard-pressed to spot the difference.

• Stable AIM helmet shell: The high-performance and complex AIM structure developed by SHOEI, made of glass fibers and organic fibers, combines penetration resistance, lightness and flexibility.
• Shock-absorbing EPS liner: Combined EPS liner of different densities protect the head in the event of an impact.
• Chinstrap with Double-D closure: Pleasantly narrow, padded chinstrap with classic double-D closure.

VISOR

• Integrated CJ-4 visor with extra curved lower edge.
• Available in clear as standar d or optionally in dark tinted, high definition yellow, spectra gold, spectra silver (both mirrored) or photochromatic.
• The height of the lower edge of the visor can be adjusted three times when the visor is extended.
• Stable locking position in r etracted position
• Integrated handles on the left and right for opening and closing
• Filters >99% of the UV-A/UV-B radiation

PEAK

• 3 rivets in the forehead area for attaching a helmet peak from the original SHOEI accessory range
• Bubble visor can be attached

GOGGLE-STRAP

• Loop with SHOEI-branded rivet for attaching classic motorcycle goggles or retro MX goggles
