Outer shell: PB-CLC2

• Arai's Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction increases the strength and flexibility of the shell while keeping the weight low and the centre of gravity low. This band, located above the eye opening, contributes to the use of a thinner EPS liner that significantly improves the field of vision upwards. A specially developed "mechanically expanded fibre mat", sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of Arai's proprietary superfibre laminates, is used to reinforce and bond these two superfibre layers without adding weight to the helmet. The latest "Z-Mixture" resins increase material adhesion and require less resin for a stronger bond between the materials for a thinner and lighter shell.

Variable Axis System A (VAS-A)

• This new visor system makes it easier and quicker to change the visor. The visor can be fitted or removed without tools. The visor is attached with just one screw on each side and can therefore be easily removed and fitted. With VAS, the position of the visor attachment is lowered, resulting in an average 10 mm smoother shell in both temple areas to achieve the ideal smoother shape that increases the ability to dissipate impact energy. The visor is designed to follow the line of the eye opening area on the shell while maintaining a continuous curve. The result is a larger, clearer field of vision. The radius of the visor follows the shape of the helmet and provides a higher level of deflectability.

3 configurations

• Multi-purpose styles for your vehicle: Adventure, On-Road and Off-Road. Changing to one of the styles requires no additional parts. A more open eye opening is optimised for wearing goggles ( cross goggles ).

Innovative tip

• The all-new peak has been designed for more effective ventilation, increased flow at high speeds, a wider adjustment range for protection from the sun and greater impact resistance, all leading to a more comfortable riding experience.

Tour-X5 ventilation

• The Tour-X5 has a completely new ventilation system. With a total of three air inlets and five air outlets, ventilation has been further improved compared to the previous generation. Stay cool in any situation.
• Pull-down chin spoiler
• Helps to minimise wind noise and supports the dissipation of warm air from the face area. Allows additional deflection of road debris away from the neck. Depending on the model, the chin spoiler can be retracted.

Replaceable cheek pads/ear cups

• Cheek pads/ear cups can be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. After cleaning, rinse well, pat dry with a towel and allow to air dry completely before reassembling. Never machine wash or heat dry. Interior parts in different sizes and thicknesses are available for customisation to each rider.

Replaceable interior fittings

• The complete interior fittings can be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. The interior parts are available in different sizes and thicknesses so that they can be customised for each rider.

Facial Contour System (FCS)

• The Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a foam spring support in the cheek pad that contracts and springs back to provide an even better fit and more comfort for the lower jaw without exerting excessive pressure.

10 mm wider base

• The exclusive shell widens by 5 mm on each side, making the base 10 mm wider overall. This makes it easier to put the helmet on and take it off.

​Emergency Release System (ERS)

• Enables easier access to an injured driver. The cheek pads slide out by pulling on the orange-coloured tabs integrated into the pads. Makes it easier for trained medical personnel and emergency services to remove the helmet. Minimises the risk of additional injuries.

Different outer shells

• In contrast to many other manufacturers, Arai offers an outer shell for every two-helmet size in most models. Together with different moulded outer shells for different models, it is almost impossible not to find the fit you are looking for.

ECE R22-06

• ECE R22-06 requires a much more stringent test procedure than the previous ECE R22-05 and includes a tilt test to measure rotation.
